Billion dollar casino didn't want to pay artists

A funny thing happened recently. The new Resorts World casino in Vegas has announced that it is inviting local artists to paint their creations in the hotel's back office. But when it became known that they wanted beautiful walls for free, a wave of indignation arose.

The casino has not yet opened, but it is already close to it. The project cost billions of dollars, so it was surprising that the managers decided to save on artists. They were asked to pay for supplies and provide a place, but the work itself is free. This greatly outraged the Vegas art community, and they even planned a protest right in front of the entrance to the institution in the coming days.

Many artists spoke negatively about this and said that such an attitude should be changed, that they could not be paid. Someone drew an analogy with other professions, saying that asking them to work for free would sound crazy.

When the casino realized that they had made a mistake, they announced that they would pay for the work and instead of a protest, a celebration of artists and art was organized. The President of Resorts World noted that they did not mean to offend anyone and that they are proud of the artist community.

One of the arguments for free work could be that people will see their work and this will be advertising. However, the casino asked to draw in office premises, and not in halls where there are a lot of people and those in front of whom it would be useful to light up are having fun.
